You may be surprised to learn that Idaho secretly loves efficient, innovative energy, especially if it protects the environment.
It’s true! Idaho has a long history of it. We’ve compiled a list of interesting facts that most people may not know about Idaho’s energy landscape, and we have made it available to you for free!
As you know, Idaho Energy Freedom is powered by an active advisory council made up of people with substantial expertise in various aspects of clean energy. Even so, we still find ourselves learning something new every day. We learn from each other and we like to keep our thumb on the pulse of emerging technology that will power our homes and businesses.
And it turns out, Idaho is with us on this.
In fact, our state government loves it so much that the Governor’s Office of Energy and Mineral Resources has set up a state energy loan program to provide low-interest loans to develop energy projects for homes and businesses.
And if you want to install solar for your home, you get a hefty rebate from Idaho Power. You can check out what you qualify for through Idaho Clean Energy Association. In fact, Idaho Power offers tax deductions for use of alternative energy. The Residential Alternative Energy Tax Deduction program allows payers to save up to 40% of the cost of their home’s solar, wind, and geothermal power installations. Through this, the most you can save in one year is $5,000, and the total for four years is $20,000. This means that if you can wait for your money, you can get almost all of what you paid for your solar system back. In addition, you will be able to combine this with your federal-level tax savings. This is one of the stronger programs in the industry and one that is worth considering.
Or, if you live in a rural area, the USDA has guaranteed grants and loan programs for you to spruce up your agricultural business or any other small business with renewable energy.
And, if you don’t want to take the full leap into installing renewable energy in your home or business yet, you can just help Idaho Power reduce the high demand on energy during peak energy demand times by enrolling in the Flex Power program to make your current energy use cleaner, greener, and put some green back in your pocket!
The bottom line is, we are not the only ones in Idaho who love clean, renewable energy. Discover some surprising ways Idaho is secretly in love with efficient energy with our free downloadable PDf here!
